"Ottumwa's Central Addition" -- Reminisce Society

For our February program the OPL’s Reminisce Society is pleased to hear from Wapello County Supervisor and local historian, Jerry Parker, on Tuesday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. in the library’s meeting room.

As a river town, Ottumwans have seen their fair share of floods. But one residential area saw a disproportionate amount while they lived in what was known as Central Addition. Parker will share details on who lived in Central Addition, the community that was created there and how it came to be.

Please plan to join us early as seating will be limited on Tuesday, February 23, for a look back into Iowa’s past. Reminisce Society programs are free and open to everyone. For further information, please call the library’s director, Sonja Ferrell at 641-682-7563.
