The Ottumwa Public Library is proud to host Dr. Brian Warren as he presents his program “Memories of the Romper Room.” This program is based on his paper titled “Be a ‘Do-Bee’: a Magic Mirror Journey Inside Romper Room” which is a combination memoir and descriptive look at a favorite classic Ottumwa TV show for children called “The Romper Room.”  Built mostly through the recollections of a hostess, Miss Joyce, Warren’s research explores her own story as a participant in the show as well as the larger picture of the development of the show in the 1960s.  Dr. Warren mixes his mother experiences with his memories to bring the audience a full recollection of the local classic children’s show.

The Reminisce Society’s programs are free and open to everyone. If you are a person with a disability who requires special assistance or for further information, please call the library’s director, Sonja Ferrell at 641-682-7563, extension 202.
