Southeast Iowa
Linda Betsinger McCann
Join us Tuesday
March 26th in the K.C. Hall behind the library at 10 am as Linda
McCann presents “The Civilian Conservation Corps in Southeast Iowa”. The CCC
was a federal program to assist young men in supporting their families. Most
people know of the state park work, but in Iowa, over 75% of the work projects
were done on erosion control, flood and drought prevention and planting trees.
Linda has spoken with 21 men who were in the CCC and shares their memories. The Reminisce Society’s programs are free and
open to everyone. If you are a person with a disability who requires special
assistance or for further information, please call the library’s director,
Sonja Ferrell at 641-682-7563, extension 202.
